Linkedin Today
Launched in March 2011, Linked Today has become an indispensable tool in my professional toolkit. It is the first thing I access once I log in to my Linkedin account. Linked Today is a product/service offered by the professional networking giant making it easier for people to stay updated on the news read and shared by their peers across social media services such as Twitter.
Stories are also recommended based on what industry or source you follow. The video below gives an overview on what Linked Today is all about:

One can also choose from premier publications and sources such as:

Using Linkedin Today for research
In case you are a student and you need to understand about a company before applying for an entry-level job then you have an option of searching for relevant information on the company by typing a few keywords. For example – Apple, Amazon, IBM (to name a few) and the search results will be displayed which enables the user to sort the results by:
- Network
- Company
- Location
- Industry
- Time
- School
- Group
- Topics
- Seniority
- Update type
This drilldown capability allows you to understand who is sharing what kind of information, where, when, which level of management, in which industry and location.

One also has the option of saving articles for reading later in the event of a busy day at the workplace.
